KG SYSTEMS

KG Systems has been active for more than 25 years with a team packed with experience (almost 50 years) in the field of grow tables, grow table systems and internal transport systems.

The organization originated from the company Kees Greeve Tuinbouwprojecten B.V., an organization which has been a well-known name in the realization of complete horticultural projects for almost half a century. From this operation two organizations emerged: KG Systems and KG Greenhouses.

KG Systems operates completely independently but - when necessary - KG Systems and KG Greenhouses join forces. This enables us to offer all projects from A to Z. This cooperation between the two companies ensures that knowledge and experience are optimally utilized. And as a result, KG Systems continues to prove to be the partner in grow tables, grow table systems and internal transport systems.

Our journey: 25 Years of Milestones

1997

The First Manual Tables

Brothers Ferry and Bernardo Greeve began experimenting with manual growing tables at the family company, Kees Greeve B.V. Ferry took the lead on design; Bernardo brought a clear commercial vision. The concept was straightforward but ambitious: create a table system that could work harder, last longer, and perform more consistently than anything on the market.

From Manual to Automated

The next step was automation. Ferry and Bernardo began developing motorized, automated bench systems — a move that would define KG Systems' identity as an innovation-led engineering company rather than a traditional equipment supplier.

KG Systems Is Founded

In 2001, KG Systems was officially established as an independent company. Within the same year, the first fully automatic grow table projects were delivered and operational. What had started as an experiment in a family business was now a professional engineering enterprise with real installations and real results.

A World Premiere: Multi-Cultivation Layer for Tulips

Just one year after founding, KG Systems delivered a world first: the first multi-layer cultivation system designed specifically for tulip production. This project demonstrated the company's ability to go beyond standard catalogue solutions and engineer systems tailored to specific crop requirements and growing conditions.

First Vertical Farming Project

KG Systems completed its first vertical farming project, making it one of the earliest greenhouse system specialists in the world to implement multi-layer, artificial-light growing environments at a commercial scale. This milestone positioned the company well ahead of the vertical farming trend that would accelerate globally years later.

New Headquarters Opens

Sustained growth drove the need for expanded infrastructure. In 2011, KG Systems opened a purpose-built headquarters, designed to house a growing team of engineers, project managers, and production specialists — with the physical space to match increasingly ambitious projects.

International Expansion: China, Japan, Korea

KG Systems extended its reach into Asia, delivering horticultural growing system projects in China, Japan, and South Korea. This international expansion validated the company's engineering standards on a global stage and opened long-term relationships with growers in some of the world's most demanding and technically sophisticated horticulture markets.

New Production Halls on Site

To meet rising demand and maintain its single-source manufacturing model, KG Systems invested in new on-site production halls. Bringing more manufacturing in-house strengthened quality control and reduced lead times for clients across Europe and beyond.

Further Production Expansion

Production capacity was expanded again in 2021, reflecting continued strong demand for grow tables and internal transport systems across both traditional greenhouse markets and the fast-growing vertical farming sector.

Over 10,000 m² of Production Capacity

The most significant infrastructure milestone to date: a new production facility exceeding 10,000 m² was added to the KG Systems site in Bergschenhoek. This investment secures the capacity to deliver large-scale projects with shorter lead times, greater flexibility, and the same high manufacturing standards that clients have come to rely on.

Continued growth: A new production facility of over 10,000 m² added to our operations
